Almost half of Working Dog's vineyard is dedicated to white wines.

Wine grapes can be grown in a great variety of locations; although not all grapes can be grown in all locations.  The most import thing besides sun, heat, and hang-time is an unrelenting drive for perfectly ripened grapes.

Its not always the sugar, its not always the acid, its the combination of the two that we look to achieve at Working Dog. With whites, that typically means grapes that have ripened, but not too fast, lest we lose that precious acidity that makes white wine so lip-smackingly good.

We feature a great selection of award-winning whites, with styles sure to please everyone from the casual wine drinker to the true afficionado.

Traminette is a hybrid produced at Cornell University in 1965. The grape descends from the better-known Gewurtztraminer grape, having the same excellent flavor characteristics, but better fungal tolerance and cold hardiness .

2016 Traminette - Traminette is Working Dog's most popular white. The Gewurztraminer lineage of this variety infuses spicy succulence, while the seductive aromas of floral apricots keep you enjoying another sip.

Our fresh off-dry style is perfect as an aperitif and also can be enjoyed with poultry, Asian fare or simply enjoying with a special friend.

Chardonnay is one of our favorite white grapes here at Working Dog. This versatile and popular grape exhibits fresh clean fruit flavors ranging from apple to citrus. Introducing the grape to barrel aging brings out the creamy butterscotch notes we associate with oaked Chardonnays. It's the one grape that we age both ways, to create two distinctive styles for your enjoyment.

2016 Black Feather Chardonnay - Bright, citrus and melon finish, delicious. Pair with rich cheeses.

2015 French Oak Aged Chardonnay - The bright straw coloring of our 2015 Oak Aged Chardonnay exhibits ripe honey and buttery tones.

Aged in French and American oak, this wine is a perfect match with poultry.

Viognier has beautiful floral aromas, much like a Riesling; but is typically a dry wine. This grape is gaining in popularity in North America, and we can see why!

2016 Viognier -Aromas of pear and honeysuckle frame the opulent textures of this premium Rhone varietal. 33% French oak, 67% cold-fermented tank.

Riesling originated in the Rhine Valley in Germany. This grape has a great balance of sugar and acid that make it perfect for pairing with food. Floral and aromatic, Riesling's popularity has spanned the ages!
